LAST COPIES!
We are very pleased to bring you Sea Scouts' "Word as a Weapon" 7" (zum005). The Sea Scouts were a stunning group from Tasmania in the vein of early Sonic Youth crossing moments of beauty with overwhelming bleakness and doom. Members went on to form Love of Diagrams, Baseball, Bird Blobs, Coconuts, Bogan Dust, and Ruins (Tasmania) and are legendary in the Melbourne rock universe. This is their only widely available US release and also the only 7" they ever did, pressed for their 1999 US tour, and perhaps the most "pop". Artwork by Tim Evans.

"Forceful drumming, scribbled guitar patterns and vocals that range from slacker apathy to strangled screams fill 'Word As a Weapon' with the punch and the momentum of an Aussie football match. Likewise, 'Destroy Your Local McDonald's' reverberates with tribal percussion and screechy, in-your-face boy/girl voices. Judging by the hooky-yet-sludgy charms of this 45, the Sea Scouts are a delightful little find." - Kelso Jacks, CMJ
